The boys discuss the 2-0 defeat of a typically attritional Stoke, applaud some top performances by Ashley Cole, Florent Malouda, Mikel, John Terry and Alex, and ponder the forthcoming challenges of the Carling Cup and Champions League.

No 6-0 this week, so we’ll just have to be satisfied with 32 league goals without reply in our last 7 games. The salient point being no goals conceded…seven clean sheets!

As always it was a battle against Stoke, but even with Super Frank missing a penalty and then limping off, we ran out comfortable winners to leave us the only unbeaten team in the league with the small matter of a plus 14 goal difference. That’s why we’re champions!!

Chelsea’s passing and movement gets glowing praise from the FanCast crew. It’s just like watching Playstation football!! Thankfully, Super Frank and JT seem to have got injured just at the right time with international week coming up so will be better for the rest.

We have our usual awards for the Man of the Match; Chant of the Match; Celery and Guinness moments. Also as it’s the end of the month we’ll be nominating our Goal of the month and player of the month.

The boys also have a look at the forthcoming Carling Cup and Champions League where we will be reacquainted with the delights of Slovakia, the bad trip of the Luzhniky stadium and Didier Deschamps at Marseille.

A song for Obi in “We’re out to show the World the way to Sing” is followed, as ever, by the Dr donning his white coat and stethoscope to answer your questions in Dear Mart and a very grumpy Chidge reading out the best posts from the website and facebook group in “You’re on CFFC”…

The Chelsea Football FanCast #124

Chidge and the boys are back for either the last show of last season or the first show of the new season!! They have a fond look back at the legendary Double winning season; announce the winners of the first ever Chelsea Football FanCast awards, and look ahead to the new season.

Seeing as we didn’t really do it justice thanks to the dire World Cup getting in the way, we take a fond look back at the legendary Double winning season on the show tonight picking out our favourite moments from Chelsea’s best ever season in the process. We also announce the winners of the first ever Chelsea Football FanCast awards, affectionately known as the Fannies.

With the Community Shield on Sunday, the Rollercoaster ride that it supporting the Chels gets going once again. Where will it all end? We’re hoping at Wembley, winning the Cup with the Big Ears having secured the League and FA Cup too. We have a look ahead to the new season, revealing our hopes and fears and cast our eyes over the latest transfer news. We also rake over the Coles – Joe and Ashley and give what we hope will be our final words on these subjects, for good measure.

Now just because there have been no games for us to think up a few new ditties, doesn’t mean we haven’t got a couple of new songs for “We’re out to show the world the way to sing”. We’ll be giving an airing to a couple of them that may or may not be sung on the terraces this season. All will be revealed.

And last but by no means least, we answer your questions in “Dear Mart” and read out the best posts from the website and facebook group in “You’re on CFFC”

The Chelsea Football FanCast #123
The boys discuss England’s abject failure at the World Cup and ask themselves how and why, and what next for the Eng-er-land. They also have some advice for Fabio Capello and reveal their surprise choice for the next England Manager – Gazza. Genius!

Having lulled us into a false sense of optimism after beating the mighty Slovenia, England were totally humiliated by one of our greatest rivals and basically played like a pub team. The boys blame Capello for a poor use of players and the wrong system rather than what should have been Super Frankie Lampard’s first World Cup goal for England.

We think that Capello should take the fall for not getting the best out of the so-called Golden Generation, but who to replace him? The usual suspects are mentioned, but in a moment of inspiration Chidge makes the point that if Argentina can achieve success with a troubled and crazy genius in Maradonna, then why can’t England? Gazza must therefore be the only choice for next England manager. At least the players will have a laugh and be able to enjoy a beer. It could hardly be worse than what we’ve got!

With the World Cup effectively out of the way, the Chelsea FanCast can now get back to what counts: Chelsea. The boys preview the pre-season tour of Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Hamburg and errr…Crystal Palace. Only 2 weeks to go!! We also look at the latest transfer gossip and ‘Moody Blues’ a great Chelsea book following the 2007/2008 season written by James Clarke.

No Dr Mart this week, but fear not, Ross answers your questions in “Dear Mart” including the lack of gratuitous TV shots of fit women during the World Cup, decent USA players and media bias against JT and Chelsea players. Finally Chidge reads out the best posts from the website and facebook group in “You’re on CFFC”.

The boys are in good voice after Chelsea do proper job on the Hammers which puts us back in pole position at the top of the table. The boys discuss the game, and give their celery, Guinness, man and chant of the match awards. Talk moves on to the return of the Special One for the game against Inter Milan, and the case is made for Joe Cole, plus Dear Mart and You’re on CFFC!.

God’s chosen time for football – 3.00 pm Saturday – puts the boys in good heart this week, although West Ham are not the only ones hammered, as Dr Mart has one or two Guinness too many!

A good team performance highlighted by Malouda’s man of the match performance and Joe Cole’s dazzling cameo, has both the Stamford Bridge faithful and the FanCast crew in full singing voices. Even the proliferation of horse manure along the Fulham Road is discussed as well as Martin’s encounter with Wink Ball!

Joe Cole wins the plaudits in the Guinness moment, Drogba and the MHL combine well for the Celery moment, and there can be only one chant of the match against the caravan dwellers from the East!

We work out the game plan to beat Inter Milan on Tuesday including a non-biased Uefa Ref, an early goal and the crowd getting behind the team, as we look forward to chanting stand up for the special one at the start of the match and you’re not special any more at the end of it!

Chidge holds ‘clear the air’ talks on the most debated issue of the week – and makes a passionate defence and case for keeping Joe Cole and ends with a plea to his favourite player to keep the blue flag flying high.

One of Chelsea’s most proper Chels terrace songs is given an airing in “We’re out to show the world the way to Sing”. Not for the feint hearted, but West Ham get a name check…and all the rest!

Finally Dr Mart answers the questions of the week in “Dear Mart” and Chidge reads out some of the best posts from the week in “You’re on CFFC”

The Chelsea Football FanCast: God’s chosen time for football!

On this week’s show, sticking it up Stoke to get a Wembley semi! Plus Jez Walters from CFC Net talks about the CFC Net website and takes the “60 Second Fan” challenge, as well as our match awards, “Goal of the Month”, “Dear Mart”, a classic song or two and “You’re on CFFC”!

The lads celebrate our seemingly annual trip to Wembley as Chelsea put a spanner in the Potter’s wheel. A thorough and professional job is done on Stoke and their aerial bombardment repelled. We are particularly delighted that John Terry silenced the Stoke boo boys – all together now: “John Terry, knocked you out!!”

Lots of candidates for Man of the Match as Dr Martin and Chris try to nominate the whole team, as well as popular nay surreal choices for Guinness and Celery moments and Chant of the Match. All will be revealed!

Jez Walters from CFC Net is our special guest, and he takes the time honoured “60 Second Fan” challenge. We sing his favourite Chelsea song in “We’re out to show the world the way to sing!” – a very fitting one on FA Cup days to boot! Jez also tells us how the CFC Net web site got started, why it’s important to remain independent from the Club and the vital service it provides to supporters old and new from far and wide, closer to SW6.

Ross get’s to debut his Goal of the Month section with the contenders being Drogba’s free-kick v Hull, his second against The Arse, and his goal against Wolves, plus Ballack and Kalou’s goals against Cardiff. Tough call but we announce the winner.

All this plus the irreverent and irrepressible Dr Martin in another session of “Dear Mart”; Chidge with the best posts of the week in “You’re on CFFC”. And last but by no means least ChelTel mentioning ‘catharsis’ at least 7 times!!

The Referee’s a ******! The Chelsea Football FanCast #107

The boys feel somewhat cheated after the Nightmare at Stamford Bridge as Chelsea’s poor schoolboy performance and a mugging by Man City’s Tevez and Bellamy (Baaaaahhh)!

Much moaning on the FanCast this week as the CFFC crew dissects a bad day at HQ. Mike Dean, no width, no pace, schoolboy defending and no energy are the key villains other than Tevez and Bellamy. At least the loyal supporters who stayed to the bitter end did their bit as the team gave it a go in the last 15 minutes with a 3:1:4 formation!

Tough calls for Man of the Match and Guinness moments – even Mike Dean gets an ironic nomination, but a rip roaring Eng-er-land gets the nod in Chant of the Match, and the (Proper) Chels support gets the Celery moment for their defiant singing in the face of the Wayne Bridge boo boys and early leavers.

And on a similar theme, a terrace favourite featuring a certain vegetable better known as a tickling stick is sung to cheer us all up in “We’re out to show the World the way to sing!” We also look back at a more honourable defeat in Milan last Wednesday but have a hilarious ‘Tale from Milano’ from Paul and Ross (Paulo Rossi collectively!) to enjoy.

All this plus Dr Martin giving us some much needed therapy in Dear Mart answering questions on smallest Chelsea players, Malouda’s role as left back and inevitably, do we care about Wayne Bridge? Finally, in “You’re on CFFC”, Chidge has some unintelligible and hilarious posts from somewhere in the Far East, San Diego. Arizona, Australia and Hastings!

The Chelsea Football FanCast: The Referee’s a ******!

Chidge, AKA ‘The Guvnor’ is back from his trip to California to assume complete control over the Chelsea FanCast, and is brought back down to earth by a none too convincing victory over Wolves. But then a win is a win, and getting wins when playing poorly is Championship form.

Chidge gives Chel Tel, Chris, Ross, Stu and of course the Peter Taylor to his Brian Clough (AKA Dr Martin) a big thank you for holding the fort in his absence and then gets down to business to discuss the performance at Wolves and hand out the Man of the Match, Chant of the Match, Guinness and Celery moments!

We look forward to the clash with Inter Milan in midweek and hope that the ‘Special One’ doesn’t go from hero to nemesis. A repeat of the summer tour 2-0 victory by Jose’s old team against his new team would be most welcome. The boys also debate whether Chelsea’s new policy of being whiter than white in public is really necessary, but then again with the newspaper talk about Ashley’s underpants reflect that it might be! Changing the subject, Chidge gets to talk about his own tour to the States and the San Diego Blues, and can confirm that his behavior was definitely whiter than white!

All this plus perhaps the most famous of Chelsea’s songs in “We’re out to show the world the way to sing”, Dr Martin giving us THE answers to your questions in Dear Mart and you’re Uncle Chidge regaining control in “You’re on CFFC”, all with the mic’s turned on and the printer working!

Chelsea’s defeat by Everton at Goodison in midweek leaves them still top of the league, but not really ‘aving a laugh.

Poor defending at Everton followed by four goals by different scorers against Cardiff represent a week of mixed fortunes for Chelsea. Both matches are discussed, and the Man of the Match and Chant of the Match, Guinness and Celery Moments are awarded.

In “We’re out to show the world the way to sing!”, Stu takes the lead once more in a rousing old favourite extolling the merits of West London in contrast to those in the North of the capital.

We look at the latest Chelsea gossip: the unfortunate injury to Ashley Cole, FA Cup and League prospects and say farewell to goalkeeper Petar Borota who sadly passed away this week.

Dr. Martin answers your questions on Chelsea-supporting celebrities, our favourite fixtures and Arsene Wenger’s mental condition in “Dear Mart”. In “You’re on CFFC” we read messages from listeners on progress with the new Rio Ferdinand song which was suggested in #104 and an inspirational rant for Chelsea to win the League.

We look at the latest Chelsea gossip, no transfers this window, but with the club rightly exonerated in the Kakuta affair, the cheque book could be out come the summer. The sacking of JT is also discussed as well our League prospects.

With Chidge still in California, Dr. Martin once again steps into the breach to bring you this edition. The Chelsea team’s great form continues with premiership wins over form team Birmingham and away at Burnley. Turf Moor has proved difficult for our two main rivals this season with both dropping points there.

Both matches are discussed, and the Man of the Match and Chant of the Match, Guinness and Celery Moments are awarded. These two wins have put Chelsea back in our rightful position at the top of the league. The Youth Cup victory against Portsmouth at the Bridge is also featured.

Injuries to Ashley Cole and Deco are a worry, especially with both of them in such outstanding form. The Fancast crew applaud the loyal Chelsea fans for their great support not only for the team, but also for captain John Terry amidst his tabloid tribulations.

In “We’re out to show the world the way to sing!” Ross leads us in a requested song about Ancelotti to the unlikely tune of ‘bamba la bamba’ and we also parodise a well-known hymn.

We look at the latest Chelsea gossip, transfer inactivity, and discuss our League prospects further.

Dr. Martin answers questions on favourite away wins, encounters with Cardiff City and whether or not Chidge’s sojourn the USA should be made permanent in ‘Dear Mart’. Once again the team share the duties of reading messages from listeners in “You’re on CFFC” including a review of our players out on loan and more on over-zealous stewarding.
