Chelsea’s Premier League-winning side has again been hailed – this time by the members of TalkChelsea.

Five Blues players were included in the forum’s inaugural Premier League Team of the Season awards, including Golden Boot winner Drogba and vice-captain Frank Lampard.

Ashley Cole, 27-goal midfielder Frank Lampard and Serbian defender Branislav Ivanovic completed the Chelsea contingent, whilst Arsenal contributed two players to the starting eleven – Cesc Fabregas and Thomas Vermaelen.

Each Manchester side had one inclusion each – Craig Bellamy of City and media sweetheart Wayne Rooney of United, whilst Aston Villa’s Richard Dunne and Joe Hart of Birmingham represented the Midlands. Hart also won the Young Player of the Year award.

Cech won save of the season for his brilliant denial of Sylvain Ebanks-Blake of Wolverhampton Wanderers whilst Drogba’s finish against Bolton won the competition for best goal.

The Ivorian was also voted Player of the Season for his incredible tally of 36 goals and Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti won the accolade for winning the Premier League in his first season.
