Those of us who are saddened by the present state of Chelsea could find a little bit of comfort when they look at the probably bright future of our club. Brightness, symbolized currently by the dazzling performances of arguably our most talented wonderkid, Charly Musonda Jr.
The youngster has continued his positive showings in Seville’s second club, Real Betis. This time, his victims were the players of Espanyol, where he notched up his first ever senior assist and continued leading a mini-revival at the Andalusian club:
At only 19 years of age, Musonda has quickly established himself as one of the most important players in the team. Completing 8 out of 11 attempted take-ons and wrecking havoc in the Catalan defence. His output in five games has been a goal, an assist and a man of the match award. Not too shabby for a player who’s only made his debut in senior football a month ago.
The outlook is seeming ever brighter for Musonda, and we should be excited about it because if all goes well, the kid could grow to become a very special player.
