Another draw for Chelsea last weekend extends Hiddink unbeaten run to 10 games, a game you could of bet on using Ladbrokes. Although he has only managed to win 4 times. The main focus for the team is to be a consistent attacking threat for the full 90 minutes. For the last few matches I have predicted that Hazard would return to the staring XI, yet he was limited to brief cameos, while short he has shown to be on his way back to his best form. With 2 goals in the last 3 games, Hiddink should finally trust the young Belgian.
Kurt Zouma was side-lined for 6 months after a nasty fall against United. As arguably the first choice centre back, Zouma’s pace and ability will be surely missed in the line up. Hiddink will most likely look to out of favour Garry Cahill to replace the young French man. Cahill is a fine replacement and should keep the backline stable alongside his old buddy John Terry.
During Sunday’s match Kurt Zouma was taken off on a stretcher, it was later released that the injury (ACL Knee injury) would need surgery and take him out for 6 months. Loic Remy (Calf/shin) has recently re-joined the team during training and could be considered for the bench on Saturday. Celebrating his 30th birthday this week, Falcao (groin) is still side-lined.
Steve McClaren’s team holds the current record for the most number of injuries in the league. Janmaat (Hip/thigh) and Colback (Hamstring) could re-join the side to face Chelsea this weekend. Players expected to return this month include De Jong (Eye), Mbabu (Hip/thigh) and Anita (Hamstring).
