Antonio Conte fears that imminent signing Tiemoue Bakayoko will miss the start of the Premier League campaign, according to the Telegraph.
As per the Telegraph, Chelsea hope that Bakayoko will complete his medical and the deal will be signed and sealed before they jet off for their pre-season tour. There are, however, major concerns over the Frenchman’s fitness.
The Telegraph believe that Bakayoko’s £35M transfer to the Premier League champions was held up after it was revealed that he had undergone surgery on his injured knee at the tail end of last season.
It is reported that Bakayoko has been training on his own in preparation for his move to Chelsea, but Conte fears that he will be some way behind the rest of his teammates, and may not be match-fit until September. That means he would miss three Premier League games, against Burnley, Tottenham and Everton.
Well that’s just fantastic.
