Antonio Conte will not allow star player Eden Hazard to leave Chelsea this summer despite interest from Barcelona, according to the Evening Standard.
After enduring a terrible season with the Blues is the 2015-16 campaign, Eden Hazard returned to his glorious best last season, scoring 16 league goals for the London club.
However, Hazard’s performances for the Blues last term have not gone unnoticed by the rest of Europe.
In April, Spanish media outlet Don Balon reported that the Belgian international had agreed a deal in principal to become the next Galático at the Bernabéau, with the forward becoming one of the best paid players at the club alongside Cristiano Ronald and Gareth Bale.
More recently, the Evening Standard reported that Barcelona had expressed an interest in taking the 26-year-old to the Camp Nou. Yet, despite interest from Spain’s top teams, Chelsea manager Antonio has dismissed the possibility of the departure of the 26-year-old Belgium international this summer, as the Evening Standard report:
“Will Hazard stay with us? Yes. He is very happy to stay with us and to play for Chelsea.”
This news will come as a major relief to Chelsea fans, who consider Hazard as one of the club’s finest talents.
Moreover, with the Blues back in the Champions League this season, it it important that we keep hold of our best players in order to have a real chance of winning Europe’s top prize.
