Chelsea manager Antonio Conte appears to be in the hunt for defensive reinforcements.
Calciomercato cite Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo in reporting that Chelsea are interested in signing Juventus veteran right-back Dani Alves.
Alves is one of the most decorated players in world football, having won 31 pieces of silverware during his illustrious career. Though he is now 34-years-old, and in the swan-song of his playing days, the Brazilian still has plenty to offer.
Calciomercato report that Chelsea need to sign a new right-back ahead of the next Premier League campaign, and could make a move to sign Alves this summer.
However, the champions-elect’s pursuit of the former Barcelona star will not be straightforward. Calciomercato believe that Manchester United and Manchester City are also interested in signing Alves, and it seems unlikely that Massimiliano Allegri would be keen to part with an important figure in his Juventus squad.
Only time will tell whether a deal to bring Alves to Stamford Bridge materialises.
