Treble-winning former Barcelona boss Luis Enrique is on Chelsea’s list of potential replacements for Antonio Conte, according to the Telegraph.
The Telegraph report that Conte’s future with the Blues has been thrown into doubt after reports that he is unhappy with the club’s hierarchy over the lack of transfer activity. It is also mentioned that Conte himself is not in Chelsea’s good books, having decided to essentially ‘dump’ striker Diego Costa by text message.
However, despite this, the Telegraph believe that the Premier League champions have no intention of allowing Conte to walk out the door this summer, but if he does, there is a contingency plan.
As per the Telegraph, Chelsea have plenty of options to appoint as their next manager, including Luis Enrique, whose time at Barcelona came to an end at the end of last campaign.
He has proven that he can cut it at a top club, and thus would certainly not be a bad appointment. However, keeping Conte content should be top of our priorities.
