Diego Costa on fire for Chelsea

Chelsea could be set to lock-horns with Diego Costa in court and sue him an eye-watering amount, report the Express.

As per the Express, the Blues are prepared to take Costa to court for breach of contract. The tabloid claim that he earns a whopping £185K-a-week at Stamford Bridge, which makes him the second-highest earner on the club’s books.

The Express believe that Costa’s on-going feud with manager Antonio Conte intensified after he was unable to secure a move to former employers Atletico Madrid.

It is reported that Chelsea expect him to report to the club’s training ground and make himself available for selection, whereas Costa has no interest in doing so following the deterioration of his relationship with coach Conte.

The Express report that if neither side backs down, and Costa does not return to the Cobham training ground, then the case could be taken to the high court. It’s claimed that Chelsea could sue him up to £50M if he does not comply.

It’s a great shame that a peaceful resolution could not be found between the two parties.
