Chelsea centre-back Andreas Christensen has been dismissed by the Danish national team after he was deemed to be too tired and unfit to feature for his country, report The Sun.
Christensen has been one of the surprise stars of the Premier League champions’ campaign. After a stellar two-year stint on-loan at Borussia Monchengladbach, Antonio Conte opted to keep him around as part of the first-team squad for this season.
In what has been a season to forget for the Blues, Christensen has been a silver lining. However, it is unclear if he will be fit enough to feature regularly in the business end of our season.
The Sun report that Christensen was not fit enough to play for Denmark and was subsequently sent back to England. That doesn’t bode well for us, with Chelsea having some extremely important games coming up.
He ought to use the international break as an opportunity to get back into shape.
