John Terry’s influence on his teammates at Chelsea has been spoken highly by many that had the pleasure of working with the former-club captain.
Despite Terry applying his trade at Aston Villa, the legacy of the Englishman will never be tarnished at the Blues.
Another player that currently isn’t at Chelsea is Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who is currently on loan at Crystal Palace.
Loftus-Cheek has had a beneficial season in getting game time for the South-London side and earning his first senior appearances with England. However, a lengthy absence through an ankle injury has been a setback for the centre-midfielder.
When speaking to Sky Sports’ Soccer AM, the 22-year-old praised Terry for his leadership during his time as an academy player with the club.
Sky Sports quotes Loftus-Cheek saying:
“I think he’s the best captain I’ve seen. When I first joined the first team changing room at 18 and new signings would come in, he would be the first one to welcome them and show them about.
“He certainly made me feel like a first-team player when I first moved over. He was a big help.”
It’s likely that the two players are still in contact and there’s a possibility that the two could be working together again at Chelsea.
