Chelsea appear to have won the race to sign Real Madrid defender Danilo, according to the Mirror.
The Mirror reports that the London club have beaten Italian champions Juventus to the signing of the highly rated right-back who will arrive for a fee believed to be in the region of £28 million.
The 25-year-old defender played 24 times for Real Madrid last season, scoring once and providing three assists for Los Blancos.
If Danilo completes a move to Stamford Bridge, he will become Antonio Conte’s second defensive signing of the transfer window with Antonio Rudiger arriving from AS Roma last week.
Most importantly, the Brazilian defender will offer some much needed cover on the right side of defense. However, Danilo will have to impress the Italian boss if he is to dislodge Victor Moses as Chelsea’s first choice right-back.
With the arrival of Danilo looking increasingly likely, and Sky Sports reporting that Tiemoue Bakayoko is set to follow suit, the Blues finally appear to be making good progress in the transfer market this summer as the club look to form a squad capable of defending its Premier League crown.
