Chelsea vice-captain Cesar Azpilicueta is adamant that the team will bounce back after two back-to-back thumping losses, chelseafc.com reports.
The 3-0 and 4-1 defeats against Bournemouth and Watford respectively has left the Blues just a point’s distance outside the top four in the Premier League.
Despite poor form, Azpilicueta is looking ahead to the rest of the season and that this dodgy patch of results is behind him, as the club’s official website reports.
Azpilicueta is quoted by chelseafc.com saying:
“We are Chelsea, a big club and when we lose one game it’s a bad time for us.
“Obviously to lose two in a row is even worse but I’m sure this team will fight back. We have three targets to go for and we have a massive three or four months ahead of us.”
Chelsea won’t just be playing on the league front in February. Our FA Cup campaign continues in the fifth round clash against Hull City on the 16th. Four days later and the first leg against Barcelona in the Champions League commences.
The next few fixtures will play a massive part in Chelsea’s season as well as Antonio Conte’s future at the club.
