After the arrival of N’Golo Kanté from Leicester City last season, Premier League assist king Cesc Fabregas spent a large amount of time last season watching matches from the bench.
However, according to a report in the Evening Standard, Antonio Conte has told Cesc Fabregas that he wants the midfielder to stay at the club and has promised the Spaniard more playing time next season.
In the January transfer window, the Independent linked the Spain international with a move away from the London after starting only a handful of games for the Blues.
With the arrival of Tiemoué Bakayoko from Monaco last week, Cesc Fabregas’s position within the club came under doubt once again.
But, the Evening Standard report that Conte held a meeting with the 30-year-old midfielder to reassure him of his role in the squad; even admitting that the Spaniard should have played a bigger part in Chelsea’s title winning season.
Fabregas has collected two Premier League winner’s during his three years at Chelsea so far, recording 45 assists.
