As soon as Chelsea made their move to sign Kante from Leicester City in the summer of 2016, it was clear to see just how good of a signing he would prove to be.
The Frenchman’s meteoric rise with the Foxes, during which he was an integral part of the side who pulled off perhaps the biggest sporting upset in sporting history, saw him go from relative unknown to world star virtually overnight.
Chelsea took notice and secured his services ahead of the plethora of interested parties – and we’re so thankful that we did.
Last term Kante became the first player ever to win back-to-back Premier League titles with different clubs. He also won the PFA, FWA and PL player of the year awards; and you can’t say he didn’t deserve it.
Kante has earned his right to be rubbing shoulders with the world elite in 8th place. Congratulations, N’Golo!
