Chelsea will reportedly hold talks with Napoli today over the possibility of poaching former manager Maurizio Sarri.
It’s an entirely unique situation. We are forced to deal directly with Napoli and Aurelio De Laurentiis in our pursuit of Sarri, despite Carlo Ancelotti already being appointed as his successor.
There have been reports that De Laurentiis could keep Sarri on the club’s payroll alongside Ancelotti if his valuation of the Italian is not met. It would come as a surprise to few, the Napoli president is a real hard-baller.
Chelsea will be hoping that he woke up on the right side of the bed this morning, as talks are thought to be taking place today with Napoli, with Sarri on the agenda.
That’s according to SportItalia, who report that a final attempt to sign Sarri will be made today. It is yet unclear what our next step will be should we be unsuccessful once again. We’re keeping our fingers crossed.
