It appears as though Manchester United will suffer defeat in their reported pursuit of Chelsea’s reigning player of the year Willian.
According to the Express, Jose Mourinho is interested in a reunion with his former winger, and could look to make a move to sign him in the summer transfer window.
Willian, however, does not appear to be so keen on making the move. The Express quote the 28-year-old, who commits his future to the Premier League champions: “My future is here with Chelsea, I have a contract until 2020 and I’m happy.”
The Brazilian has been playing second fiddle to Pedro this campaign, and as the Express report, he has started just 13 Premier League games.
Despite his lack of regular first-team football since Antonio Conte took the reigns at Stamford Bridge in the summer, he doesn’t appear to be looking for the exit door.
Having a player of Willian’s quality in reserve is exactly what we’ll need to be successful in the Champions League, and other competitions, next season.
