Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas could be set to put pen-to-paper on a contract extension.
The Spaniard has been in fine form this campaign, scoring four Premier League goals and providing nine assists for his teammates – despite not being a regular starter in Antonio Conte’s side.
It appears as though he may be set to be rewarded for his good performances. According to the Daily Star, Chelsea are set to offer Fabregas a one-year extension to his current deal.
The Star report that Fabregas will not be offered a rise to his current £150,000-a-week wages, but the Blues are prepared to extend his stay at Stamford Bridge until 2020.
Fabregas has proven to be a useful option for Conte off the bench this term. It remains to be seen whether the Italian is keen to keep him around to play a similar sort of role, or has plans to give him a more significant position in the side next time around.
Either way, it doesn’t appear as though Fabregas will be going anywhere anytime soon.
