Chelsea’s reigning player of the year could be on his way in the summer transfer window.
According to the Telegraph, the Blues are willing to listen to offers for Willian this summer. The tabloid report that he is unlikely to play an integral role in Antonio Conte’s side next season, and could therefore depart to accommodate new arrivals.
The Telegraph believe that former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho could be waiting in the wings to reunite with the Brazilian, having already made enquiries as to his availability.
Willian has spent the majority of this season among the substitutes, with Pedro making that spot on the right-hand-side of Conte’s front-line his own. The Telegraph report that his lack of game-time leaves the 28-year-old considering his future at Stamford Bridge, and Mourinho could swoop in to take advantage of the situation.
It remains to be seen how much Chelsea will demand in exchange for Willian. It would likely take a considerable sum to convince the club’s hierarchy to sell him to a direct rival.
