Antonio Conte has revealed the full extent of Alvaro Morata’s back injury – and things could have been a lot worse for the Spaniard.
Morata took the Premier League by the scruff of it’s neck after joining Chelsea from Real Madrid in the summer transfer window. However, his form drastically nose-dived and the former Los Blancos hitman went 13-games without finding the back of the net.
The 25-year-old is now back among the goals having bagged against Leicester City in the FA Cup, and it looks as though he is (finally) fully fit, too.
Conte revealed in his pre-Tottenham press conference the full details of the back injury that kept Morata sidelined for so long. The Italian revealed that there was a chance he would miss the rest of the season.
Conte is quoted by the Express saying:
“He had this problem in his back. It was a serious problem because I didn’t know how long his recovery it would take: one day, one month, the whole season.”
