The likelihood of Antonio Conte leaving Chelsea in the summer could see David Luiz staying at the club for next season.
According to Goal, Luiz may show his faith to the Blues despite having a poor individual campaign under Conte.
The relationship between the two men hit rock bottom earlier this season when Conte substituted Luiz early in the second half of the thrilling 3-3 draw with Roma at Stamford Bridge. The charismatic Brazilian was frustrated with this move and failed to maintain his position in the side.
Both knee and ankle injuries have also hindered Luiz’s chances of getting back into the Italian’s plans. The dangerous challenge the centre-back received from Sergio Aguero last season in the 3-1 win against Manchester City at the Etihad has had a lasting effect.
Goal reports that despite having to see specialists about the injury that will keep him on the sidelines for a month, Luiz is planning to be available for the vital Premier League clash against Tottenham on April 1st.
Even though it’s been a rough season for the 2012 Champions League winner, hopefully he can make an impression on Conte’s potential successor at Chelsea.
