The Eden Hazard contract saga continues to drag on.
The Belgian is arguably the best player in the Premier League, and one of the very best you will find anywhere on the planet.
He has a natural, easy on the eye ability, which has made him a real joy to watch during his time in a Chelsea shirt.
The Belgian has also been influential in two Premier League title triumphs during his time at Stamford Bridge.
He’s a superstar – few would deny it.
However, there has been a major question mark over the long-term future of Hazard at Chelsea for some time now. With continual links to Real Madrid, and still no agreement over a contract extension, Chelsea fans have been left anxious.
Don Balon report that Roman Abramovich is also concerned by Real Madrid’s interest. It’s claimed that the Russian has offered Hazard a wage-packet worth somewhere in the region of £15M-a-year, which works out as £288K-a-week, to try and convince him to stay put in SW6.
Only time will tell if making Hazard the highest-paid player in the history of Chelsea will be enough to convince him to stay.
