Chelsea talisman Eden Hazard will not be going anywhere this summer, despite interest from Real Madrid, according to the London Evening Standard.
Hazard has been in stunning form this campaign, his inclusion in the PFA Team of The Year is testament to that. His 15 goal haul in the Premier League is his best to date, and according to the Standard, it has captured the attention of La Liga heavyweights Real Madrid.
The Standard report that Real Madrid are keen to secure the Belgium international’s services this summer, but it doesn’t look as though Chelsea are keen to part with their prize possession.
According to the Standard, Chelsea have informed Hazard that if he pens a new £300,000-a-week contract, he will be the focal point of the side for several years to come. The Standard note that Chelsea also told Hazard that he will not be allowed to leave in the summer transfer window.
If we are to re-establish ourselves as a European superpower, we can not be selling our best players. Hazard can achieve everything he wants to achieve at Stamford Bridge – and fingers crossed, he will.
