Chelsea legend Frank Lampard could be set to be fast-tracked into management, according to Sky Sports.
Lampard is arguably the greatest player ever to pull on our illustrious shirt. Chelsea’s record goal-scorer, one of the most decorated players in the club’s history, and a captain’s performance in a triumphant Champions League final.
He etched his name into the footballing hall of fame during his days as a player, and he may be about to be handed an opportunity to do so as a manager, too.
Sky Sports report that League One outfit Oxford United have held talks with the former midfielder, who is believed to be just one of a number of candidates for the vacant manager’s position.
However, Sky Sports believe that Oxford are seriously considering giving Lampard an opportunity in the dugout, in what would be his first ever managerial role.
Only time will tell if Lamps will be a tracksuit or tuxedo manager…
