How on Earth was Thibaut Courtois okay to carry on after this?
After an hour of play against Stoke City on Saturday afternoon, Courtois collided with captain Gary Cahill and landed heavily on his head/neck.
The Belgian laid motionless on the floor, arms spread out, as if he’d taken an Anthony Joshua right hook on the chin.
Remarkably, Courtois played on and finished the game. The below photo shows just how serious the incident looked at first. He’s very lucky to be okay.
Uh oh. Courtois totally laid out after a heavy fall. Didn’t look too responsive for a few seconds there. Definite concussion risk here. 🔵😧 pic.twitter.com/1TlJrR2J7P
