Antonio Conte has suffered a major blow ahead of Chelsea’s season opener against Burnley on Saturday, report the London Evening Standard.
The Blues will be hoping to get three points on the board early on in this Premier League campaign, as they look to retain their crown in what promises to be the most competitive season to date.
However, the London Evening Standard report that Conte has confirmed he will be without one of his most important players for Saturday’s game, with Pedro set to miss out after suffering an ankle injury in the Community Shield defeat to Arsenal next weekend.
With Eden Hazard already sidelined having broken his ankle in June, Pedro’s absence will be a major blow to our chances – especially with the squad depth issues that Conte is having to deal with currently.
Jeremie Boga or Charly Musonda could be handed their first ever Premier League start, or we could see Alvaro Morata shifted out wide. We shall see.
