Sergio Ramos warned Real Madrid president Florentino Perez against signing Chelsea winger Eden Hazard during the summer transfer window, according to Diario Gol.
What a legend.
As per Diario Gol, Zinedine Zidane remains a huge admirer of Hazard and would love to have him at the Santiago Bernabeu. However, the Spanish outlet believe that Ramos warned against Los Blancos drafting in the Belgium international this summer due to his ankle injury.
Hazard broke his ankle in June and, up until the recent international break, has been sidelined as he continues to recover. He will likely not be fully match-fit for another few weeks, which may be one of the primary reasons behind Ramos’ suggestion.
Diario Gol claim that Ramos was also being protective of Isco and Marco Asensio in preventing Perez from making a move to sign Hazard this past summer. It is reported that Hazard is expected to extend his contract with Chelsea in January. We certainly hope so!
