It doesn’t appear as though Antonio Conte will be leaving Stamford Bridge any time soon.
Conte took the reins at a side that just finished tenth in the Premier League, the worst league position since Roman Abramovich bought the club in 2003.
He fast turned Chelsea into a winning machine, as we won 13 league games on the bounce, equalling Arsenal’s record for the most consecutive wins in a single season.
The Blues sealed the Premier League title with a 1-0 victory over West Brom on Friday, and are also in the FA Cup final. Conte is on the brink of following in the footsteps of compatriot Carlo Ancelotti in winning the double in his first season.
From a Chelsea perspective, Conte will hopefully stay put for many years to come, and one of his former players believes he will do just that.
Calciomercato cite former Juventus winger Simone Pepe, who reveals he believes Conte will stay at Stamford Bridge beyond this summer, despite interest from Italy:
“Many people talked about Conte returning to Italy but I don’t think it is possible at the moment. Next season he will be looking to win the UEFA Champions league with Chelsea as he wants to do well in the UCL.”
