Former Chelsea striker Tony Cascarino claims that the aggression of Diego Costa is missing from the current team, Goal reports.

Alvaro Morata was signed as a replacement for Costa and despite having a good start to life at the club, the forward was poor in the 3-0 loss to Roma.

Cascarino insists that, despite rating Morata, the 25-year-old lacks the physicality that Costa showed at Chelsea.

Cascarino is quoted by Goal saying;

“Alvaro Morata is a big talent but I wonder if Chelsea are missing the nastiness of Diego Costa up front.”

The Englishman used an example in Tuesday night’s match in which Morata got outmuscled by opposition defender Federico Fazio.

Perhaps Costa would have been better in that situation. However, this criticism is quite harsh on Morata. The Spaniard is still finding his sharpness after suffering from a hamstring injury earlier this season.

Morata also has abilities that Costa doesn’t such as speed and agility. But there wouldn’t be a better time for the £57m signing to score than this Sunday against Manchester United.
