Antonio Conte’s Chelsea side are one of the favourites to lift the Premier League title ahead of the new season.
888sport’s latest title odds lists the Blues as 11/2 third-favourites to lift the crown, behind favourites Manchester City (5/2) and Manchester United (7/2).
Diego Costa is at a respectable 14/1 to win the Golden Boot, whilst new signing Michy Batshuayi is worth a punt at 22/1.
With Batshuayi and N’Golo Kanté adding to an already talented squad that will be desperate to right the wrongs of a poor title defence last year, Chelsea are 1/2 on to finish in the top four and secure an instant return to the Champions League.
Whilst many online betting sites make the two Manchester clubs the outright favourites to land the title, let us not forget that only twelve months ago, Chelsea were preparing to defend the trophy they won at a canter under José Mourinho.
This time round, though, Mourinho’s Manchester United will look to be the Blues’ undoing, with Pep Guardiola’s arrival at Manchester City potentially heralding a new era of northern dominance in England.
Chelsea’s opening game this season is on Monday 15 August, as the Blues host West Ham.
Only a Cesc Fabregas-inspired comeback denied the Hammers a first win at Stamford Bridge in more than 13 years last time round, and the visitors are priced at 51/10 to win.
Chelsea are firm favourites at 5/9 with 888sport, especially with the Hammers visiting Astra Giurgiu on Thursday in the Europa League.
That London derby aside, Conte’s side have favourable opening fixtures and will look to get off to a strong start. Getting points on the board early on is certainly what underpinned their success in 2014/15, after all.
After a visit to Watford, Chelsea host newly-promoted Burnley at Stamford Bridge the following weekend. That is followed by a trip to south Wales to face Swansea.
