Everton – Opposition Views

We Catch up with Everton fan Liam Lackey ahead of tonights clash.

What are your expectations for Everton this season?
Pretty much a dead season due to us being way off the running for a top four spot and now out of our most realistic aim for a trophy (the FA Cup). That being said, we are on good form and are getting many key players back now (mainly Arteta and Jagielka to come) so hopefully we can push on in the Europa League and potentially cause a few upsets in that. Domestically I think top seven is our most realistic aim which could lead to another season in Europe for us if things go our way in domestic competitions.

Some were happy, with allegations of the player’s private life being revealed through media tabloids written by self-righteous, sanctimonious hypocrites.

What are your expectations for the remainder of the season for both sides?
Expectations (or more high hopes): after our win on Sunday, Arsenal and Chelsea will be going neck and neck for the league title for the remainder of the season. Rooney will injure a knee in the next couple of weeks, so United will be stuffed. Arsenal will clinch it with a week to spare.

Talking Points

It’s quite apt what they say; points do indeed mean prizes.

In this sense, that particular prize is the Premier League trophy; something that has evaded Chelsea since the departure of José Mourinho in 2007. There have been a couple of near misses since; Mourinho’s last season saw Chelsea come second fiddle to Manchester United, and Avram Grant’s side were only two points behind United a season later.
