In the first of this three part season preview for the Chelsea Youth and Reserves I will be focusing at the bottom, the Youth team. Over the course of these previews I will cover all the way up to players breaking into the first team and those moving on or going out on loan. Following a very exciting season at the academy level of Chelsea hopefully we can see that carry on into the new season and see more exciting things from a lot of exciting players.
The fixtures for the 2010/11 Premier League season have been released, with Chelsea paired with West Bromwich Albion in the opening round of matches.
The Blues will host the newly-promoted Baggies – managed by Chelsea legend Roberto di Matteo – at Stamford Bridge on August 14th and end the season with at Goodison Park against Everton.
Ex-Chelsea star Adrian Mutu has lost his appeal in the final developments of his ongoing legal battle with the club.
Mutu was sacked by former manager José Mourinho in 2004 for failing a drugs test and his contract was terminated with immediate effect.

Growing up in the city of Cayenne, French Guiana, Malouda moved to the French Ligue 2 club Chateauroux in 1996 at the age of 15, joining as a trainee. After playing in the first team for 2 years, he climbed divisions and signed for Ligue 1 club Guingamp at the turn of the millennium, where he was later joined by future Chelsea teammate Didier Drogba....
