Michy Batshuayi took inspiration from an unlikely source ahead of Chelsea’s clash with Atletico Madrid on Wednesday night.
The Belgian had just three touches of the ball after coming on as a substitute for Alvaro Morata with ten minutes to go, but it only took one of them to win the game for the Premier League champions and ensure they were flying home with all three points.
Batshuayi later revealed on Twitter that he had been FaceTiming Manchester City left-back Benjamin Mendy ahead of Chelsea’s clash with Atleti, with the France international giving him ‘strength’ for the game. Clearly it worked a treat, with Batshuayi proving to be a match-winner.

Perhaps we ought to employ Mendy on a full-time basis. He should have plenty of free-time on his hands now, with Man City confirming on the club’s official website that he has ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament. That’s never good to see, get well soon, Benjamin!
