Chelsea are considering making a surprise summer move to for Juventus right-back Dani Alves, according to the Daily Mail.
Alves wrote his name into the footballing history books during his time with Barcelona, and has continued to fill up his trophy cabinet in Turin. It looks as though, now 34-years-old, the Brazilian could be set for a new challenge.
The Daily Mail believe that Chelsea have been informed that Alves will be available for transfer this summer, which has captured imagination of Antonio Conte, who is now keen to hand him his first taste of Premier League football.
According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea will face competition from Manchester City and Tottenham in the race for Alves’ signature. The Daily Mail do note, however, that Conte’s interest is genuine, as he seeks competition for Victor Moses at right-wing-back.
It remains to be seen how much Alves would cost any potential suitors, but at 34-years-old, and with the Daily Mail noting he has just 12 months remaining on his deal – we may well be able to secure a top-class full-back on the cheap.
