Antonio Conte is looking to bring five players to Chelsea this summer, as the Italian looks to ready his squad to challenge on all fronts, report the Mirror.
Transfer trio Roman Abramovich, Michael Emenalo and Marina Granovskaia will (hopefully) have learned from the failures of the 2015/16 campaign, where Chelsea failed to adequately strengthen having lifted the Premier League title the season prior.
Now is not a time to rest on our laurels, it’s a time to push forward – and it looks as though the club agrees.
According to the Mirror, Chelsea are close to splashing out a combined £110million on Romelu Lukaku and Tiemoue Bakayoko from Everton and AS Monaco respectively. The champions do not appear to be done there, however.
The Mirror believe that Conte is also looking to sign Juventus defensive duo Leonardo Bonucci and Alex Sandro, as well as Paris Saint-Germain midfield maestro Marco Verratti.
Signing any of the aforementioned three is likely nothing more than a pipe dream, but it’s excellent to see the club showing this sort of ambition.
