Antonio Conte is reportedly already taking steps to strengthen his Chelsea squad for life in the Champions League.
According to The Sun, Chelsea preparing a double-swoop on AS Roma. The Sun believe that Conte is keen to draft in Radja Nainggolan and Antonio Rudiger in the summer transfer window.
The Premier League leaders’ combative midfield and impenetrable defence have been the foundation of our success this season, but Conte does not appear to be completely content with either of them.
The Sun report that Roman Abramovich is set to fund a major summer spend, and the Roma pair are on Conte’s wish-list. The tabloid note that Nainggolan and Rudiger would cost the Blues a combined £70million, a price that we appear willing to pay.
In the current market, it’s an inevitability that we are going to have to spend big in order to secure our targets and keep pace with our rivals. After his incredible work this campaign, Abramovich should probably give Conte whatever he wants.
