Chelsea could make a stunning move to re-sign one of their former players this summer, according to the London Evening Standard.

The Blues have shown several times that they are not afraid to recruit players that they have let go in the past, from Graeme Le Saux in the ’90s, to Nemanja Matic and Didier Drogba more recently.

If the London Evening Standard are to be believed, Chelsea could be set to add another to that ever-growing list.

As per the London Evening Standard, Chelsea are considering making a move to sign Southampton left-back Ryan Bertrand.

Bertrand left Stamford Bridge in the winter of 2015, signing for the Saints on a permanent basis. If the report is accurate, there is a chance he could be on his way back to SW6 this summer.

Marcos Alonso remains our only natural option at left-wing-back, and after Nathan Ake departed to sign for Watford, we are in dire need of a new left-sided player. Could Bertrand be the answer to our problems?

  1. Obviously he has proved during his time at Southampton he is a very good LB/LWB plus he is homegrown.Let’s give him a chance and not be fooled by the Sandro hype plus he knows the PL and champions league well.
