Inter Milan manager Luciano Spalletti has admitted that Chelsea could move to sign Italy international Antonio Candreva before the end of the transfer window, report the Daily Mail.
The Daily Mail quote Spalletti, insists that he has received no suggestion from Candreva that he is keen to leave the San Siro this summer:
“My position is to keep him and the club agrees with me, for now he has not shown any other signals.”
Spalletti went on to admit, however, that there is a possibility Chelsea will still look to secure his signature before the transfer window slams shut on August 31st, as the Daily Mail report:
“As far as I can tell, Chelsea could try to do something. You are the ones who always anticipate these situations, so I should ask you.”
As per the Daily Mail, Chelsea are confident that a transfer fee in the region of £30M will be enough to convince Inter to sell. However, that does seem pricey for a player who is the wrong side of thirty, who wouldn’t even be a guaranteed starter after arriving.
The Daily Mail claim that we have already spent £141M this summer, but Antonio Conte is discontented with the size of his squad.
