Chelsea left-back Marcos Alonso has been linked with a move to Barcelona, as Spanish magazine Don Balon reports.
Alonso has had a successful time since joining Chelsea in 2015 from Fiorentina which has prompted interest from the La Liga giants.
The Spaniard has been a revelation for Antonio Conte as Chelsea went on to win the Premier League last season.
Despite Chelsea’s average start to the season, Alonso has shown glimpses of what he is capable of this season. Being the hero for his team’s 2-1 win against Tottenham, scoring both goals.
According to Don Balon, Alonso is a target for Barcelona along with Juventus’ Alex Sandro who is also a target for Chelsea.
It’s unlikely that Antonio Conte would be willing to sell Alonso given how short we are in this position. Despite the links with Sandro, Alonso still remains a player the manager seems to rate highly.
It would take a big fee for Barcelona to sign Alonso given how crucial he is to the Blues’ system.
