Chelsea have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Bayern Munich midfielder Arturo Vidal.
Vidal has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge. It remains to be seen if the reports are as a result of ‘two-and-two-together’ journalism, with the Chilean formerly working alongside Antonio Conte during his time at Juventus, or the Premier League champions do hold a concrete interested in signing him.
Irrespective of that, Chelsea are always on the lookout for the best talent available, as has been the case since Roman Abramovich took the reins at the club in 2003. Vidal certainly meets the criteria, and if Bild are to be believed.
The German publication report that Conte would be extremely keen on reuniting with Vidal in SW6, and he could be provided with the opportunity to sign him on a free transfer. It is reported that Bayern are looking to make room for Leon Goretzka, who will soon be arriving from FC Schalke 04.
Vidal would add some much needed quality to our midfield, and signing him without paying a penny is too good an opportunity to pass up. Let’s get negotiations going with his agent as soon as possible!
