Chelsea are hopeful of signing Swansea City striker Fernando Llorente, according to the London Evening Standard.
With Diego Costa exiled, Michy Batshuayi inconsistent, and Alvaro Morata not able to carry the goal-scoring burden single-handedly, Chelsea could certainly do with drafting in another centre-forward before the end of the transfer window.
The London Evening Standard claim that Llorente could be that man. As per the report, the Premier League champions are hopeful that a deal will be agreed with Swansea before Thursday’s deadline.
According to the London Evening Standard, the Swans were initially demanding £30M, but the Blues believe that their pursuit of former striker Wilfried Bony may see them lower their demands to as little as £15M.
The London Evening Standard report that Chelsea are also growing confident that a deal will be struck with Leicester City to sign England international Danny Drinkwater. One thing’s for sure, it’s going to be a busy few days.
