Chelsea are considering re-signing Thorgan Hazard, according to German publication Bild.
Thorgan signed for Chelsea alongside his brother in the summer of 2012. Unfortunately for him, he wasn’t nearly as successful in SW6 as his brother. He was shipped out on loan to Zulte Waregem and Borussia Monchengladbach before his move to the German outfit was made permanent.
He has continued to develop during his time at Borussia-Park, and has also made seven senior appearances for the Belgium national side. Thorgan’s progression appears to have recaptured the attention of his former employers.
As per Bild, Thorgan has re-landed himself on the transfer radar of the Premier League champions. When he was initially sold to Gladbach, it was announced on the club’s website that there was a buy-back clause included in the deal.
It is unclear whether this buy-back option still exists or has since expired, but Bild report that he would cost any interested parties somewhere in the region of €20M. That could prove to be a bargain in the modern transfer market.
