Chelsea appear to be in the hunt for a new wing-back in the summer transfer window.
Antonio Conte’s only natural option on the left-side of his defence is summer signing Marcos Alonso, so it would come as no surprise if he looked to strengthen in that area. It appears as though the Italian already has someone in mind.
According to Calciomercato, Chelsea are interested in signing Napoli defender Faouzi Ghoulam. The Algerian has established himself as one of the best left-backs in Serie A in recent seasons, and it appears to have caught the eye of the Premier League leaders.
Calciomercato believe that the Blues face competition from Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid in the hunt for his signature, but if his £12.8million asking price is met – we will be free to negotiate personal terms.
Ghoulam would not only provide much needed competition for Alonso, but he also has the ability to make the left-wing-back position his own. Only time will tell if we will turn our interest into a concrete offer.
