Chelsea are still pushing to sign another centre-forward this summer, despite the arrival of Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid, according to the Independent.
As per the Independent, the Premier League champions are interested in signing Morata’s compatriot Fernando Llorente from Swansea City, but the asking price is proving to be a stumbling block.
It is reported that Llorente is Chelsea’s number one option to provide cover for Morata, but are not prepared to meet the Swans’ heavily inflated demands, which the Independent believe stand in the region of £30M.
The Independent claim that Michy Batshuayi is expected to leave the club on loan this summer, and the Blues could target his international teammate Christian Benteke if Swansea refuse to budge.
The Independent believe that Chelsea hold a long-term interest in Benteke, who would be keen on making the move to Stamford Bridge.
One way or another, if the Independent are to be believed, it looks as though we will be signing another striker this summer.
