How about this for showing ambition.
According to journalist Maciej Iwanski, Chelsea are interested in signing Bayern Munich superstar Robert Lewandowski.
Iwanski believes that the Premier League champions are keeping a close eye on Lewandowski, who has a contract with Bayern until 2021.
As per Iwanski, Chelsea will face stern competition from former boss Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United in the race to sign Lewandowski, but the Poland international is thought to favour a move to Stamford Bridge over joining the Red Devils.
Lewandowski needs no introduction, he has firmly established himself among the world elite – and is arguably the best centre-forward on the planet.
The 28-year-old has found the back of the net 204 times over the past six years, that’s an average of 34 goals a year. That level of consistency would absolutely be welcome in West London. However, it doesn’t seem to be anything more than a pipe-dream at this stage.
