Chelsea are looking to secure the signature of Leicester City midfielder Danny Drinkwater before they take on Tottenham at Wembley on Sunday, according to the Daily Star.

After Cesc Fabregas was sent off against Burnley in Chelsea’s 3-2 defeat, Antonio Conte has been left with just one fit central midfielder going into the game against Spurs on Sunday.

As per the Daily Star, Chelsea have already had a £15 million offer for the England international rejected this summer, with the Foxes valuing Drinkwater at a much higher price which the Daily Star report to be around the £40 million mark.

As a result, the Blues look set to return for the Premier League winner, with the Daily Star reporting that the we will make a new bid of £25 million in hope of sealing the deal before the match with Tottenham on Sunday.

The Daily Star report that the Chelsea board are working hard to secure a move for the midfielder after Cesc Fabregas was sent off in the club’s season opener at Stamford Bridge last Sunday.
