Chelsea may be Premier League champions, but it doesn’t appear as though Antonio Conte will be resting on his laurels this summer.
According to the Telegraph, Chelsea are interested in signing Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez and Juventus left-back Alex Sandro.
The Telegraph believe that Mahrez wants to leave the King Power Stadium this summer, and Conte is monitoring the Algerian’s situation. It is also noted by the Telegraph that Conte plans to switch between a back three and a back four next campaign, and Sandro’s versatility would allow him to do so.
There is no doubt that both players would be shrewd acquisitions, as we look to ready our squad for life in the Champions League. However, neither of them are likely to come cheap.
The Telegraph report that if Chelsea are to draft in both Mahrez and Sandro this summer, we will have to part with a whopping £95million. That is, unfortunately, the reality of the current market.
