Chelsea are in the hunt for home-grown talent his summer, according to the Telegraph.
As per the Express, one of Antonio Conte’s hopes for the remainder of the transfer window is that he will be able to recruit at least one England international, with Gary Cahill currently being the sole Chelsea player in the England setup.
The Telegraph claim that Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Everton youngster Ross Barkley are both on Conte’s transfer wish-list.
As the Telegraph note, Oxlade-Chamberlain has just one-year remaining on his contract with the Gunners, and the North London side could be convinced to part with him if they receive an offer in the region of £30M.
Chelsea’s pursuit of Barkley is likely to be more complicated. The Telegraph report that both Tottenham and Manchester City are also interested, with Everton demanding a whopping £50M in exchange for the 23-year-old.
If the Telegraph’s report is accurate, Chelsea could be set to spend a combined £80M on home-grown talent.
The Telegraph note that Juventus left-back Alex Sandro also remains a target for the Blues, with Conte expected to increase his efforts to sign him next week.
