Antonio Conte has not given up hope of signing Arsenal forward Alexis Sánchez this summer, according to The Telegraph.
With Diego Costa expected to leave the club this summer, as reported by Onda Cero, Antonio Conte is said to be scouring the market for a new forward and has identified Sánchez as a possible replacement for the explosive Spain striker.
As per the The Telegraph, Chelsea remain keen on the Chilean forward and are ‘yet to fully drop their interest’ in the 28-year-old who scored 24 goals in the league last season.
With Chelsea set to leave for their pre-season tour of Asia today, Antonio Conte only has two recognised strikers at his disposal and will be very aware of the fact that he needs to bring in other options soon if the Premier League champions are to retain their crown next season.
According to The Telegraph, Sánchez is yet to agree a new contract with the Gunners and has entered the final 12 months of his contract.
However, it is reported that Arsenal maintain that they will not sell their prize attacker to a Premier League rival.
