Chelsea remain interested in signing Torino striker Andrea Belotti, despite the arrival of Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid, according to the Daily Star.
Morata signed for the Blues last month, for what the Daily Star report to be a £70M fee. However, the tabloid claim that Antonio Conte is yet to be convinced by Michy Batshuayi, who started, and disappointed, against Burnley at the weekend.
The Daily Star note that there is no way back for last season’s top goal-scorer Diego Costa at Stamford Bridge, which leaves Conte wanting to further reinforce his attacking options ahead of the long and treacherous campaign that lies ahead.
It is reported that Belotti could be that man to add some much needed firepower to Chelsea’s attack, but Torino are demanding an eye-watering £80M in exchange for their prize asset.
It would seem absurd, from a fan’s perspective, to pay that sort of figure for a necessity.
